Stamina for Men® is a traditional herbal supplement made in Australia. In Australia, complementary medicines including herbal supplements are regulated by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). Even where a product is sold without prescription, it can still interact with prescription medications, existing health conditions, or other supplements. The information below is provided to help you make an informed decision before use.

Who Should Not Use This Product

Stamina for Men® is intended for healthy adult men aged 18 and over. Do not use this product if you:

  • Are under 18 years of age.
  • Have a known allergy or sensitivity to any of the four herbs in the formula: Maca, Panax Ginseng, Damiana, or Ginkgo Biloba.
  • Are taking prescription medication of any kind without first speaking to your doctor or pharmacist. This includes blood thinners, blood pressure medication, heart medication, diabetes medication, antidepressants, and immunosuppressants.
  • Have a diagnosed medical condition, including but not limited to cardiovascular disease, bleeding disorders, diabetes, hormone-sensitive conditions, or a history of seizures.
  • Are scheduled for surgery within the next two weeks. Some of the herbs in the formula can affect bleeding time and should be stopped well before surgical procedures.

If you are unsure whether this product is suitable for you, do not take it until you have spoken to a qualified healthcare professional.

Maca (Lepidium meyenii)

Panax Ginseng

Panax Ginseng may interact with blood thinners such as warfarin, with diabetes medications, with stimulants including caffeine, and with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs). It may also affect blood pressure. Damiana (Turnera diffusa)

Damiana may affect blood sugar levels and should be used with caution by anyone managing diabetes. It may also interact with medications that affect the central nervous system. For more, see the Memorial Sloan Kettering monograph on Damiana.

Ginkgo Biloba

Ginkgo Biloba can increase bleeding risk and should not be combined with blood thinners (warfarin, aspirin, clopidogrel) or taken in the two weeks before surgery. It may also interact with antidepressants, anticonvulsants, and diabetes medications. Allergy Information

Stamina for Men® contains four herbs and standard capsule excipients. If you have a known allergy to any of the four herbs, do not take this product. Stop use immediately and seek medical attention if you experience any of the following after taking the product:

  • Hives, rash, or itching.
  • Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat.
  • Difficulty breathing or swallowing.
  • Sudden dizziness or fainting.

These can be signs of a serious allergic reaction. Call emergency services on 000 (Australia), 911 (US and Canada), 999 (UK), or your local emergency number.

When to Stop Use and Seek Medical Advice

Stop taking Stamina for Men® and consult your doctor if you experience any of the following:

  • Any allergic reaction (see above).
  • Persistent headache, dizziness, or nausea.
  • Unusual bruising or bleeding.
  • Changes to your heart rate or blood pressure.
  • Any symptom that is unusual for you and does not resolve.

Storage

Store Stamina for Men® in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use past the expiry date printed on the packaging.

Frequently Asked Questions About Safety

Can I take Stamina for Men® if I am on prescription medication?

Speak to your doctor or pharmacist first. The four herbs in the formula (Maca, Panax Ginseng, Damiana, Ginkgo Biloba) have documented interactions with blood thinners, blood pressure medications, diabetes medications, antidepressants, and other prescription medications. Do not take Stamina for Men® alongside prescription medication without medical clearance.

Can I take Stamina for Men® with alcohol?

We do not recommend it. Alcohol can amplify some side effects of herbal supplements, including dizziness and changes to blood pressure. For best results and lowest risk, take Stamina for Men® without alcohol.

I am scheduled for surgery. Should I stop taking it?

Yes. Stop taking Stamina for Men® at least two weeks before any scheduled surgical procedure. Ginkgo Biloba and Panax Ginseng can both affect bleeding time. Tell your surgeon and anaesthetist about every supplement you take.

I have diabetes. Is this product safe for me?

Speak to your doctor first. Several herbs in the formula can affect blood sugar levels, including Damiana, Panax Ginseng, and Ginkgo Biloba. If you are managing diabetes with medication, taking Stamina for Men® without medical clearance is not advisable.

Are there any age restrictions?

Yes. Stamina for Men® is intended for healthy adult men aged 18 and over. It is not suitable for anyone under 18.

What should I do if I have an allergic reaction?

Stop taking the product immediately. If you experience hives, swelling of the face or throat, difficulty breathing, or sudden dizziness, call emergency services right away (000 in Australia, 911 in US and Canada, 999 in UK).
